Perbaikan Kualitas Produksi Pada Wiring Harness Assembling Untuk Motor Beat (Assy 3210a-K1a-N101-In) Dengan Menggunakan Metode Dmaic Di Pt Piranti Indonesia

PT Piranti is a private manufacturing company that produces wiring harnesses. This wiring harness manufacturing process is a continuous process that produces more than one type of wiring harness. In every production process, defective products are always found, where defects in the 3210A-K1A-N101-IN assy assembling process in September-November 2022 reached 221 cases. This is a highlight for improvement for the company. The purpose of this research is to increase the sigma level value and find out the factors that cause defects. In this study, researchers used the six sigma approach with the DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) method which is the most commonly used method to measure the implementation of six sigma in a company, assisted by quality tools such as SIPOC diagrams, Pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams, and the 5W+1H method. The results of this study show an increase in sigma value after improvement, from the sigma value of 4.57 to 4.71 and the defect with the largest percentage is tapping holes. The factors causing the occurrence of tapping holes include human factors which are the main factor causing defects, caused by ignoring the number of defects. Second, the method factor, where the method implemented is not in accordance with the SOP. Third, the machine factor, where the conveyor speed runs too fast. And finally, the material factor, where the wrong material is supply.
